Ellingham Show - Saturday 9th August |
Please be aware that the Ellingham Show takes place this Saturday on the Somerley Estate.
Traffic and access will be problematic - it would be advisable to steer clear of the Ellingham section of the Estate.

Trout Fishing in hot weather |
HOT WEATHER
During the hot weather sporting tickets ( C&R ) will be suspended until further notice. Fish released in temperatures of 19c or above have little chance of survival. Recent water temperatures have reached as much as 23.5c. Please note no fishing on CHESTNUTS at WHITESHEET untill further notice.

As many members will testify, Winkton Fishery is a lovely stretch of the Avon holding a good head of specimen fish of a variety of species - barbel, chub, roach and carp to name a few. The fishery is available to all Club members, but day tickets are also available. These are priced at £9 for an adult and £5 for a junior/concessionary ticket and are available from all local tackle shops. The Club would be interested to here of your catches and experiences, so please let us know via email or post a report on the forum or in the rivers section if you are a member. |

For those unaware, Club membership now runs from the month of joining for a full year e.g. if you join on 7/7/08, then your membership will run from 1/7/08 to 30/6/09. |

The Club are running some coaching/casting sessions over the Summer on Thursday evenings. These will alternate between fly casting etc. at White Sheet and coarse fishing at King Vincents Lake at Somerley. This Thursday (7 August) is a session thrashing the water to a foam at White Sheet and there will also be a coarse session at King Vincents Lake at Somerley.
The sessions will run from 6pm to 8.30pm and all are welcome (members and non-members). Further details can be found at local tackle shops. |
