3rd Over-55s Match 5th May 2022 (Hucklesbrook)
Eleven members fished from pegs on the roadside and water park banks had sunny calm conditions. For most there was plenty of time to scan the clear water looking for elusive fish. Carp cruised by but were not targeted. Aside from two bonus tench the fish caught were all quality roach with no sign of perch. John Taylor (22lb 1oz) had an excellent and easy win from the roadside bank using the waggler float despite breaking a rod. The water park bank saw little activity with Keith Rawlings (4lb 12oz) at the far end netting some nice roach to win this section. The next Over-55s match returns to Holtwood on Thursday 19th May, draw at 10am, fishing 11am-4pm. Please contact Dave Perkins (07598861573) by the previous Tuesday if you wish to fish.

Dave Perkins (27lb 12oz) had five carp including a fine mirror plus one roach to win B section from peg 20. Keith Baker (15lb 8oz) won the third section on the bottom lake steadily taking small roach, rudd and perch to build an impressive weight. Orchard Lakes – CAC match result (25.03.2022)

Twelve members took advantage of the new CAC permit to visit Orchard Match Lake near Bashley. Catches were modest as the water had hosted competitions three days in a row, but members enjoyed the warm spring sunshine and caught F1s, ide and barbel alongside the more usual carp, to make for an interesting match. Alan Snook (18lb 8oz) was the clear winner with a mix of carp, F1s and a couple of barbel at peg 6. Newcomer Nigel Rasey (15lb) sat it out most of the day on the feeder to the far bank on peg 10 taking around six carp and John Reed (14lb 6oz) had a range of carp and F1s from end peg 24.
