We are disappointed to announce our fishing at Redbrook will cease on expiry of our lease on 14 March 2022.
We have been in discussion with the owner who, coincidentally, has also been thinking about what he wishes to do with his land going forward. Members fishing there will know the walkway has become unsafe and unusable which seriously affects the access, we have talked at length about repairs to this, member’s access in general and additional security that could be introduced to resolve concerns he has about disturbance to his livestock and land.
After giving the matter a lot of thought he has decided that, as he is also semi-retiring he wishes, for the time being at least, to keep the land and fishing for his own use and will take time to review the whole site, particularly the walkway, which would need serious financial investment.
We have an excellent relationship with the fishery owner and will be keeping in touch. He is not going to be leasing the fishing out again for the foreseeable future and has said he will certainly come back to us if he decides to do so again.
For those members who fish the Upper Avon we do have access to Burgate Manor Fishery on the exchange book with Eastleigh and District Angling Club. An exchange book can be collected either from Ringwood tackle or Nigel Davis at his riverside kiosk situated in Fordingbridge recreation ground.
