Holtwood was the venue for seventeen members on a bright sunny windless day on 29th July, our highest turnout since 2008. Catches were modest and the prospect of a few bonus fish kept the result uncertain until the final whistle. Overall winner of the Sir John Mills trophy was first-timer John Read (8lb 0oz) from Millers Pool with some nice tench, runner-up was Keith Baker with 7lb 8oz of tiddlers from Bascombes Pool. Third on the day was last years winner Pete Newbold  (6lb 14oz) and 4th with top weight on Shambles Pool was Neil Maidment (6lb 2oz) using tackle inherited from his uncle Mick Maidment.

Unfortunately there was no after-match meal this year and other covid-19 precautions at the draw, weigh-in and prize presentation saw members catching up with news from an appropriate distance. Thanks to Dave Perkins and Jon Bass for running the match, weed-clearing and donating the prizes.
