The following is an update on the resumption of fishing our waters.
All waters will open on Saturday 9th January. Fishing will be strictly from 1 hour before sunrise to 1 hour after sunset. That is roughly 07:00-17:00 at this time. No persons are allowed on the water outside of these times.
Members must carry hand sanitiser at all times and be prepared to show it to our bailiffs. This must be used when using gates, stiles and toilet facilities.
All day tickets remain suspended. No guest tickets will be sold for any water.
Membership remains open but any substantial increase in applications may see it restricted and a waiting list created. Any new member applications from further afield than the local area will be placed on hold and fulfilled once the lockdown ends.
If any waters become very busy we will resume our online ticketing system we introduced following the first lockdown, whereby members will need to ‘book on’ to a water in advance. This will ensure there are always sufficient swims available and prevent overcrowding. At this point, once members input their name and membership number to our website, any members travelling from beyond the local area may have their booking cancelled. Rule 12b in our constitution states that any member endangering the welfare or reputation of the club will face disciplinary action. This WILL be used if members break the law to travel to fish our waters from outside the local area. ‘Local area’ is as defined by Angling Trust and Government guidelines as within the town or village you reside. A link is here.
We all want to fish safely and hope these regulations enable that. We feel we have a duty of care to our members and wider community not to become facilitators in the spread of COVID-19.
Wishing you the best of health and thanking you for your continued support,
The CAC Committee
