With immense sadness, the club have been informed of the death of Steve Griffiths, the river keeper at Winkton.
He had helped anglers from all over the country catch their dream fish, so many of us were the beneficiaries of his knowledge and kindness.
As we hear news of funeral arrangements we will let you know.

“Everyone who fished at Winkton will remember Steve as a kind, helpful and friendly man who would always go out of his way to help members new and old. He will be greatly missed.

He was telling me a few weeks ago he had now fully retired and was looking forward to spending more time at Winkton. I can’t take it in at the moment.” Brian Stocker, CAC Vice Chaiman
I was with him on Saturday afternoon just hours before he passed, he had a massive smile on his face because ’HIS’ fishery had just produced it’s first salmon of the season, we were even making arrangement’s to Salmon fish together in the next few weeks. A real friend, a proper countryman, it’s a cliché to say he was a true character but that’s exactly what he was, he will greatly missed by all who new him.” Steve Jenner CAC Secretary.
