Bisterne Fishery

Brief description of fishery:

The famous Bisterne Fishery is a renowned stretch of the Hampshire Avon that produces huge coarse fish and salmon year after year. It is ostensibly a day ticket stretch but we have an agreement with the Estate for our members to have six coarse rods per day on the venue. These are issued from Ringwood Tackle and must be collected on the day of use prior to entering Estate land.

Large chub and barbel are the main quarry with many of the former weighing double figures when caught. The chub go over 7lb. There is a lot of water available with lots of swim variety. Trotting and static baits score well. In addition, large roach, dace, bream, carp and pike are present.

Please familiarise yourself with the fishery rules, parking and access times before visiting.

  • Coarse Fishing: 1st August – 30th September then 1st February – 14th March
  • Entry/Exit: 7am to one hour after sunset. Strictly no members allowed on the Estate without one of the six tickets available daily to CAC members and no access out of season.
