Brief description of fishery:
A beautiful stretch of river which has good access along well-maintained paths.
This is a real specimen fish water that has produced barbel over 16lb, chub over 7lb, roach over 3lb, 1lb dace and pike over 25lb in the last two seasons. Big river carp are also present in this stretch. There is a huge variety of swims and a light, roving approach can reap rewards in locating fish. During the winter months, the bank opposite the White House starts to fish well with large catches of specimen dace and roach regularly reported. There are two large weirpools and this slower, deeper stretch of river between the two remains fishable when the rest of the Avon Valley is in flood.
Salmon also lie up in this stretch and they can often be seen above the top weir leaping clear of the water. Sea trout are also found here.
