Sopley Mill Stream

Brief description of fishery:

Secure parking just yards from the water gives easy access to the highly picturesque venue. The side stream often remains fishable when the main river can be flooded throughout the Avon Valley. The mixture of gravel shallows, deep glides and far bank cover provide many varied swims and some idyllic trotting conditions. Historically, the water has produced barbel to within ounces of the British record. These still form one of the main target species with plenty of chub, roach, dace and pike also present. This is a wonderful venue in which to spend some time, all nestled within a SSSI, with a huge array of wildlife and unmatched tranquillity on offer. Please note – access to the lower end of the stretch can get quite boggy with a couple of small carriers to pass through. Waders or wellington boots are usually required in some places.

In addition to the general club regulations, the following apply to this venue.
