Highmead – Dorset Stour

This fishery extends down to the deep ditch upstream of Bartlett’s Cliff. The lower end of the fishery is slow and deep with extensive reedbeds, limiting access to a few swims. Shallower, faster water at the top of the fishery holds a good head of predominantly chub and dace. Roach, perch, bleak, pike and gudgeon are also present throughout. The odd brown trout can also show up.

Unfortunately, access to this fishery is currently very difficult. The road to the car park is pretty much impassable and a combination of fly tipping and vegetation growth severely inhibits parking if you can reach it. The club is seeking to solve these problems but some issues are out of our hands.

Given this current situation we believe members may wish to avoid this venue at present.
