Brief description of fishery:
This venue borders the upper boundary of The Royalty at its downstream limit. Apart from the section just below Winkton Weir, this stretch of river is very lightly fished. As such, it is a great venue to cover a lot of ground and search out fish that rarely see any anglers. The stretch holds a large head of chub averaging 4lb, with a few which are a lot bigger. There is also a small head of barbel present with fish over 12lb reported. Roach, dace and grayling are also plentiful. There are more deeper holes towards the downstream end of the stretch with plenty of weedier shallows further up. A water well worth spending some time exploring.
In addition to the general club regulations, the following apply to this venue.
Special Regulations
- When lure fishing for coarse fish and pike, no spinners, spoons or devon minnows to be used to reduce the risk of hooking out of season Salmon and Sea Trout.
