Each summer the warm weather brings the threat of KHV contaminating our waters. This disease can have a catastrophic effect on carp stocks, wiping out huge numbers of fish if it takes hold.

To prevent this it is vital that members take all necessary precautions to limit the possible spread from other, non-CAC waters.

The simplest and most effective is simply to ensure all nets, slings and mats are thoroughly dry prior to the being brought onto club property. UV rays are the most effective disinfectant and by simply leaving your fish care accessories outside to dry naturally you will prevent the spread of the disease.

The club has long had a ‘dry nets’ policy to ensure that members do not arrive with items still wet from having fished other venues. We would urge all members to follow this and challenge any individuals who may not be complying with this request.

Many thanks
